Inga Oren Architect R.A. New York

About Inga Oren, R.A.

Inga Oren is the principal owner of Inga Oren Architect, P.C. She moved to New York City in the early 1990s and graduated from Pratt Institute School of Architecture. Early in her career she worked at a structural engineering firm which laid the foundation for architecture with an emphasis on structural stability and intentional design before moving on to a firm that specialized in large scale architectural projects in the hotel and hospitality industry. Before founding her firm she gained expertise in a boutique residential firm that worked with celebrity clientele as well as a construction management company, giving her a practical understanding of how projects move from drawings to completion on the site.

In residential design, she has completed projects such as this colorful West Village Combination and this airy BPC Conversion indicating her aesthetic range whilst still retaining the minimal modern sophistication that is imbued into all of her projects. Her commercial work has included this Midtown East Restaurant, where she was architect of record as well as this Dumbo Industrial Facility. Her background in construction management has allowed her to guide projects closely through both design and build phases.

Her work reflects both her technical training and her design sensibility, with an emphasis on detail, proportion, and livability. She continues to live and work in Manhattan, where her practice remains intentionally small and hands-on, serving clients in the tri-state area.
